Malaysia EPF raises voluntary contribution ceiling

The EPF voluntary contribution ceiling moves from RM60,000 to RM100,000 per year.

This is mostly a tax-planning conversation, not a compliance one. Senior staff with significant year-end bonuses now have meaningful additional EPF headroom. Expect questions in November.

If you operate payroll in-house on spreadsheets, write down the new ceiling in your payroll runbook. The change is small enough to be forgotten and large enough to embarrass you if a senior employee catches the missed adjustment.
